History of 19 April: Do you know India launched its First Satellite this day?

The First satellite launched into the Orbit was named after the famous Mathematician and Astronomer Aryabhata.

1975 India launched its First Satellite into orbit

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its first satellite in space, named after Indian mathematician and astronomer Aryabhata. The Aryabhata satellite was launched from Kapustin Yar in the then Soviet Union by a cosmos-3M launch vehicle. The Aryabhata satellite can be called the first glittering feather in ISRO’s cap.

Nawab Wazir of Oudh, Wazir Ali Khan Born

Born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in 1780, Wazir Ali was the fourth nawab wazir of Oudh from 21 September 1797 to 21 January 1798, and the adopted son of Asaf-Ud-Dowlah.

Indian Classical Singer Kankana Banerjee born

Musician Kankana Banerjee is an classical singer trained under the tutelage of Indian classical vocalist Ustad Amir Khan in Lucknow. She has received several accolades and awards for her contribution to Hindustani classical music, including the State Government of Andhra Pradesh felicitation “Andhra Ratna Award (Kala Saraswati)” presented by Mother Teresa in 1987.

1775 American revolution begins

With a mission to capture patriot leader and seize a Patriot arsenal, 700 troops marched to Lexington to find 77 armed minutemen under Captain John Parker waiting for them on the town’s common green. British Major John Pitcairn ordered the outnumbered Patriots to disperse, and after a moment’s hesitation the Americans began to drift off the green. Suddenly, a shot was fired from an undetermined gun, and a cloud of musket smoke soon covered the green. Eight Americans were dead and many wounded comparably, only one The British soldier was injured, in the brief battle of Lexington.

1809 Servant sold to the President James Maddison

Former President Thomas Jefferson writes up a contract for the sale of an indentured servant named John Freeman to newly sworn-in President James Madison. Slavery was major component of the American economy. All the domestic and manual work was performed by the slaves.

1919 Paris Peace of Conference

Tense and complicated negotiations begin at the Paris peace conference over Italy’s claims to territory in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.

1943 Warsaw Getto uprising

In Warsaw, Poland, Nazi forces attempting to clear out the city’s Jewish ghetto are met by gunfire from Jewish resistance fighters, and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising begins. Shortly after the German occupation of Poland began, the Nazis forced the city’s Jewish citizens into a “ghetto” surrounded by barbwire and armed SS guards.

1995 Oklahoma City bombing

A massive truck-bomb explodes outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma. The north side of the building collapsed by the blast killing more than 100 people and dozens more were left stranded in the rubble.
