Born on April 26, 1958. Mathew Chandrankunnel is the author of several books including “Philosophy of Quantum mechanics” and “Ascent to Truth: The Physics, philosophy and Religion of Galileo Galilei”. He is a scientist, philosopher and theologian.

Founder of the independent state of Odisha Krushna Chandra Gajapati born
Honorably known as Maharaja Sir Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayana, was regarded as the architect of an Independent united Odisha State. Sir Gajapati was a scion of the great Ganga Dynasty of Paralakhemundi, he is also a Great Freedom Fighter, the first Prime Minister of Odisha and one of the founding fathers of the Indian Constitution, being a Member of the Constituent Assembly of India. He was interested in sporting horse-riding.
1859 ground broken for Suez Canal
Ground is broken for the Suez Canal; an artificial waterway stretching 101 miles across the Isthmus Suez and connect the Mediterranean and Red Sea.
1915 Allies begin Invasion of Gallipoli
The Allies launch a large-scale land invasion of the Gallipoli Peninsula, the Turkish-controlled land mass bordering the northern side of the Dardanelles.
1945 America and Russia linkup
On April 26, 1945, eight Russian armies complete encircle Berlin joining up with the U.S. First Army patrol, first on the western bank of The Elbe, later on at Torgau. In this historic meeting of commanders of two armies, there was a renowned soviet Russian Marshal Georgi K. Zhukov present in the meeting.
