  • National Girl Child Day was celebrated on 24th January with a theme for 2019- “Empowering Girls for a brighter tomorrow.
  • Article 280 of Indian Constitution was approved for the amendment by the Union Cabinet to increase powers of Autonomous Councils in Sixth Schedule areas of North East.

  • On the occasion of 122nd birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose, a museum at Red Fort, New Delhi named ‘Subhash Chandra Bose Museum’ was inaugurated by Narendra Modi.
  • On the Global Talent Index, India moved up one position to rank 80th.
  • The signing of Memorandum of Understanding between India and Kuwait for cooperation on the recruitment of domestic workers was approved by the Union Cabinet.
  • Shripad Naik the Union minister of state for AYUSH, inaugurated the 2nd world Integrated Medicine Forum 2019 in Goa.
  • A small communication student-made satellite Kalamsat-V2 and imaging satellite Microsat-R was launched successfully by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) through its PSLV-C44 into the intended orbit.
