1925 – Explosion in the U.S.A. 

On July 20, 1925, an explosion occurred in a New York apartment that sent the owner crashing through the windows and onto the street illegal 8 gallons were traced 3 floors below.

1944 – Germany Assassination Attempt Hitler

On July 20, 1944, Adolf Hitler and his military and naval leaders were injured when a bomb exploded during a meeting at Hitler’s headquarters.

1954 – Vietnam separates into North and South

1969 – First Man on the Moon

1957 – Biggest sheet-glass manufacturing factory opened

On July 20, 1957, India’s biggest sheet-glass manufacturing factory formally opened in Hazaribagh, Bihar.

1975 – India expels three reporters

On July 20, 1975, India expels three reporters from “The Times”, “The Daily Telegraph”, and “Newsweek” because they refuse to sign a pledge to abide by government censorship.

1986 – Withdraw from Edinburgh Commonwealth Games

1929, Actor Rajendra Kumar

On July 20, 1929, Rajendra Kumar Tuli was an Indian film actor who starred in Bollywood films. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1969.

1965, Activist Batukeshwar Dutt

On July 20, 1965, Batukeshwar Dutt was an Indian revolutionary and independence fighter in the early 1900s. He is best known for having exploded a few bombs along with Bhagat Singh.

1976, Cricketer Debashish Mohanty

On July 20, 1976, Debasish Sarbeswar Mohanty is a former Indian cricketer who has played in two Tests and 45 One Day Internationals from 1997 to 2001. He achieved the rare feat of taking all ten wickets in an innings.

1972, Singer Geeta Dutt
