Panama declares independence from Colombia (1903)

Panama issued a declaration of independence from Colombia on November 3, 1903, with the help of the US Government. D.C. residents cast first presidential votes (1964)

On November 3, 1964, the citizens of Columbia, projected their presidential election in an official political race unexpectedly for the first time. The section of the 23rd Amendment in 1961 gave residents of the country’s capital the option to decide in favor of a president and VP.
