1949 – Foundation of Territorial Army

The Territorial Army is a part of the Regular Army and was founded on 9 October 1949. The role of TA is to relieve the Regular Army from static duties. It also assists the Civil Administration in dealing with natural calamities and maintenance of essential services in situations where the life of the communities is affected. Presently, it has a strength of approx fifty thousand employees working under units such as Railway, IOC, ONGC, and Non-Departmental TA units of Infantry Battalion. It includes Home & Hearth Battalions, Ecological Battalion affiliated to various Infantry Regiments, and Engineer Regiment for maintenance of Line of Control Fencing.

2012 – Malala Yousafzai was shot by Talibanis

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for female education and the most youthful Nobel Peace Prize laureate. She is a Human Rights Advocate, working particularly for the empowerment of women and youngsters in northwest Pakistan, where the nearby Pakistani Taliban had now and again restricted young ladies from going to school. Her promotion has developed into a worldwide development, and she has become “the most prominent resident” of the Pakistan nation. On 9 October 2012, a Taliban shooter shot 15 years old Yousafzai in a death endeavor in reprisal for her activism.

1974 – Death Anniversary of Oskar Schindler  

Oskar Schindler (28 April 1908 – 9 October 1974) was a German industrialist and a member of the Nazi Party. He was credited for saving the lives of 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his enamelware and ammunitions factories in occupied Poland and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.

1967 – Death Anniversary of Che Guevara 

Che Guevara ( 14 June 1928 – 9 October 1967) commonly known as an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, politician, author, physician, military theorist, and Guerrilla Leader during the Cuban revolution. Following his performance in Bolivia, he became both a stylized countercultural icon and symbol of rebellion for leftist movements worldwide.

 1997- Dario Fo got the Nobel Prize 

Dario Luigi Angelo Fo was an Italian entertainer, dramatist, theater chief, and political campaigner for the Italian left-wing. He was the beneficiary of the Nobel Prize in Literature organized on 9 October 1997, for imitating the jesters of the Middle Ages in scourging authority and maintaining the nobility of the discouraged. Most of his dramatic work relies upon improvisation and involves the recovery of “illegitimate” types of theater, for example, those performed by giullari and, all the more broadly, the antiquated Italian style of commedia dell’arte.
