Since the river was so close, the cities were built on giant platforms and elevated grounds. Proper management was done to counter floods and the settlement of the buildings. As the city started developing the challenges were in terms of storage and wastewater, so channels were made to carry the wastewater which ended in the main drainage of the city.

The streets were designed in such a way where an eye was kept on the maintenance with Fine drainage system, Well-arranged water supply system, street lights after every four lanes, a dedicated area for throwing waste material, public wells in every street. Streets were 9-34 feet wide and divided into networks of narrow lanes with great skills of dividing the cities. The idea of a street grid seemed perfectly organized, as per the needs and the requirement of people.

Measurements and Weight Theory:

Indus Valley precisely took care of every measurement, weighing systems and equipment. By getting the perfect idea of the number of raw materials in proper proportions, the time and the material wastage reduced which further led in achieving the success in less time.  A proper network of the city was planned where drainage was given much importance.
