1333, Halidon Hill Battle
On July 19, 1333, the forces of King Edward III of England and the battalions of the Archibald Douglas of Scotland had a battle, between them, which is now known as the Battle of Halidon Hill. This prang ended in a blatant victory for England.
1545, Sinking of Warship Mary Rose
On July 19, 1545, Warship Mary Rose at Portsmouth, it was a carrack-type warship, made by the navy of the English kingdom under the guidance of king henry VIII, The vessel was in service for about 30 years before it sank.
1779, American Revolution; the Penobscot Expedition
On July 19, 1779, Commodore Dudley Saltonstall led a naval fleet with 19 warships, 24 transport ships, and about 1,000 soldiers to the Penobscot Peninsula for an unauthorized mission, to attack the British garrison which stationed 750 redcoats. Later, the Americans had to suffer heavy casualties and they also ended up losing their ships.
