Bharat Ratna award

Bharat Ratna award is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India, which has been given for extraordinary service  in the field of Science, Literature, Arts and Public Services.

Recipients of the award for 2019. 

Bhupen Hazarika : He was a playback singer, lyricist, musician, poet and film-maker widely known as Sudhakantha 

Nanaji Deshmukh : A social activist,known for his immense contributions in the field of education, health, and rural self-reliance. India’s first Saraswati Shishu Mandir was also established by him at Gorakhpur in 1950.

Pranab Mukherjee : An Indian politician who served as the 13th President of India from 2012 until 2017.

Padma Visbhusahn award

Recipients of the award for 2019. 

Padma Vibhushan is the second highest civilian award in the Republic of India. It is a medal and a citation and is honored by the President of India. It was established on 2nd January 1954. It is behind Bharat Ratna and comes first to Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. It has been honored to provide exceptional and unique service to the nation in any area including government service.

Padma Bhushan award

Padma Shri award

Padma Shri (also Padma Shree) is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic Of India. This is provided to the citizens of India for the prestigious service in recognition of their distinguished contribution in various spheres of activity including thearts, education, industry, literature, science, sports, medicine, social service and public affairs. It has also been awarded to some distinguished individuals who were not citizens of India but did contribute in various ways to India. It is awarded by the government of India every year on India’s Republic Day.

Parama Veer Chakra award

Param Vir Chakra is India’s highest wartime gallantry award. It was introduced on 26 January, 1950. Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is conferred with Vir Chakra Award on 15th August 2019. 

Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar award

It is awarded annually by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for  notable and outstanding research, applied or fundamental, in biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, mathematics, medicine and physics.

Arjuna Award

The Arjuna Award was instituted by the Indian government in 1961 to identify the outstanding achievement in the national sport. The award carries a cash prize of 5,00,000, a bronze statue of Arjuna and a scroll

Dr Bc Roy Award

The Medical Council of India instituted Dr. B.C. Roy National Award Fund in 1962 to perpetuate his memory. “The Fund” is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Award is of the value of Rs.1,00,000/- and a Silver Salver in categories of Statesmanship of the Highest Order in our country, Medical man-cum-Statesman, Eminent Medical Person, Eminent person in Philosophy,Eminent person in Arts.

Mumbai based eminent neurosurgeon Dr. B.K. Misra was named for prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National award for year 2018 as Eminent Medical Person of the Year. The award was bestowed upon him by President Ram Nath Kovind on July 1, 2019 on the occasion of National Doctors Day.

Sahitya Academi Award  

Sahitya Akademi Award is a literary honor in India, which is the Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters of India, annually, to the authors of outstanding work in one of about 24 major Indian languages. Sahitya Akademi announced a list of 22 winners of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar and 23 recipients of the Yuva Puraskar for 2019.

The winners of Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Yuva Puraskar awards will receive a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a cheque of Rs 50,000.

Jnanpith award

The Jnanpith Award is the highest literary award in India.

Bestselling author and leading contemporary English writer, Amitav Ghosh, was awarded the 54th Jnanpith Award for his contribution to the enrichment of Indian literature in English at a ceremony at the India Habitat Centre on June 14, 2019.
