Born in Mangalore, Karnataka Ramabhai was a social reformer and a pioneer in education. She is the first women who got the title of Pandita as a Sanskrit scholar and Sarasvati after being examined by the faculty of the University of Calcutta.

Author George Varghese Kakkanadan born

Commonly known by the name of Kakkanadan, was an Indian short storyteller and novelist in the Malayalam language. Born in Tiruvalla, Kerala on 23 April 1935, he is a recipient of Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards
