The SSC CPO or Central Police Organization is an exam for those who wish to join the Delhi Police and the paramilitary forces of India such as the CPRF, BSF, etc.
The posts available are Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector in Central Armed Forces (CAPF) and assistant sub-inspector in central industrial security forces (CISF).

The Recruitment of these officers happens in 4 stages:

A) Paper 1 (MCQ based Test)
B) Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
C) Paper 2 (English objective MCQ’s)
D) Detailed medical Exam (DME)

Paper – 1

This is an online Examination having 4 sections of 50 questions each. The time duration for the exam is 2 hours. The 4 sections are as follows:
Section 1 – General Intelligence and reasoning- 50 questions of 1 mark each.
Section 2- General Knowledge and awareness – 50 questions of 1 mark each.
Section 3- Quantitative Aptitude – 50 questions of 1 mark each.
Section 4- English Comprehension – 50 questions of 1 mark each.

Time limit for the paper is 2 hours

Questions will be in English and Hindi.
Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Women who are pregnant at the time of the test will be disqualified as they are unable to go through the test.
Relaxation in height and chest is permissible on the production of certificate in performance from the competent authorities of the district of residence.

The test is purely qualifying in nature.

Online Examination consisting of 200 marks to test English Language and Comprehension

This paper consists of 200 questions worth 200 marks in MCQ format.
The negative marking will be 0.25 per question.
One the basis of the performance in Paper 1 and 2, candidates will be selected.

Medical Test

A certain medical standards have been set for all post:
Eyesight: Without the use of any visual aid:
Minimum near vision must be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye).
Minimum distant vision must be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye).

Physical and Mental health:

The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint eyes.
They must be in good mental health and free from any physical defect that is likely to interfere with their duties.

All candidates who are selected will be examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPF or any other medical officer or assistant surgeon of any central/state Govt. Hospital.
Candidates found to be unfit can make an appeal to the medical board within 15 days.
The decision of the medical board will be final and no appeal against the decision of the medical board will be entertained.

Candidates who are being selected for the post of the Sub- Inspector and assistant inspector would have to pass a 7 obstacles test as mentioned below:

1) Jumping over a vertical board
2) Holding the rope on jumping from the board
3) Tarzan swing
4) Jumping on the horizontal board
5) Parallel rope

6) Monkey Crawl
7) Vertical rope

There is a set criterion for candidates who have a tattoo to be allowed in the force.

Document Verification

Final selection of the candidates will be based on aggregate marks in paper 1 and paper 2 and the allotment will be done on merit.
Candidates appointed will be under probation for 2 years and they would have to undergo training.

The final list

The people in the final list will be ranked on the following basis to give rank one criterion after the other in this particular order:
A) Total marks in paper 1and 2.
B) Total marks in paper 1.
C) Total marks in paper 2.
D) Date of birth of candidates, older candidates get preference.
E) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates.
